Then...
In 1921, Harry Pryor, Harry Kennedy and Lindley Bothwell saw a need to create an organization that
espoused all the traditions of the University of Southern California and also had a commitment to the university and
the surrounding community. This would be an organization whose members would always strive to embody the 5 attributes
of a Trojan: faithful, scholarly, skillful, courageous and ambitious. What they established were the Trojan Knights.
The Trojan Knights are committed to serving the university in any way possible and to helping cultivate good relations
with the surrounding community.
Knights have planned and executed some of the most important events in the history of USC.
These events include: Swim with Mike, card stunts, escorting President Roosevelt, and a multitude of other events.
The Trojan Knights are also the custodians of the Victory Bell and the protectors of campus during Troy Week.
and Now...
Trojan Knights have a rich history of service to
the USC community. One of our largest philanthropic projects was
Homeless Awareness Week, which raised thousands of dollars for underprivileged
people in the USC community. Some current projects include a charity
bowling tournament called Knight Bowl, which benefits Troy Camp
and a pumpkin carving event during Halloween that is in cooperation
with one of the nearby elementary schools. There are also brand
new projects already in the works for this year.
Many Trojan Knight activities in the fall center
around Trojan Football From tailgating before each game and cheering
from the front of the student section to just getting together to
watch an away game, this is a group of men who bleed cardinal and
gold. We'll see you at the Rose Bowl!! |
