Message From the President

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the website of the Trojan Knights. Founded in 1921 by Harry Kennedy, Harry Pryor, and Lindley Bothwell, the Trojan Knights serve as the official hosts and guardians of tradition at the University of Southern California. The Trojan Knights have a long and storied history at USC, and have even helped start several of the university’s spirit related traditions. These include the victory bell trophy shared with UCLA, card stunts, the white horse mascot Traveler, George Tirebiter, the school’s original mascot, and many more. We have also been highly active in service as well, as active participants in songfest, organizers of Swim-with-Mike, and several of our own signature philanthropies including the Tirebiter Run, and our annual pumpkin carving with the 32nd Street elementary school.

Here on our site you will find all sorts of information about the Knights. The “History” section of the website can provide you with some more detailed information on the history of the Knights, as well as some of USC’s many traditions. Under the “Who We Are" section you can find a description of our modern day activities, and each of our three organizational pillars: Spirit, Brotherhood, and Philanthropy. On the site you can also learn about the rush process and how to join the Trojan Knights, visit our alumni page if you yourself were a Knight, or get in touch with our executive board.

I hope you enjoy perusing our website. My contact info is listed on the site, so please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions or want to work with the Trojan Knights.

Fight On!

Andy Greos,

President of the Trojan Knights

February

2012

Spring 2012 philanthropy is underway!

The Trojan Knights are putting on a campus wide bone marrow donor registration drive at Tommy Trojan on February 29th from 9am to 5pm. The drive is in memory of a young boy, Evan Cousineau. He was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder when he was 9 years old and passed away shortly thereafter. Watch the touching video here.

Donating bone marrow is a rather simple procedure - if you are a match. Being a match is incredibly rare, which is why registering for the bone marrow registry is so critical. You may be the key to giving someone a second chance at life. Last year almost 500 people registered for the drive! Please register for the drive or simply show up at Tommy Trojan on the 29th of February.

The Trojan Knights dedicate themselves in helping USC and the community around it. Therefore, we are participating in the Trojan Dance Marathon and Relay for Life once again!

Check out the Trojan Dance Marathon site and help those in need. 100% of the money raised through DM will be donated to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. The money raised from Relay for life will help cancer patients associated with the American Cancer Society.

A new semester is starting, which means rush. We're looking for outstanding Trojans to join our ranks, so check out our events!

We are pleased to announce the Trojan Knights 1st Year Experience Scholarship! Are you a male freshman whose first semester was fall 2011? Do you embody the aspects of an ideal Trojan? Looking for an extra $500? Consider applying!

Fall is football heavy, and in spring we focus more on getting out there and doing service to help others. We're very excited to be coming back to school with the news that two of our captains, Matt Barkley and T.J. McDonald, will be returning to the USC gridiron next season. We too are looking forward, with great plans, and want to do our part to contribute to the destined reign of Troy. May you all have a great 2012!

Last month we were featured on Conrad's Corner, USC's only radio talk show - listen to it here!

Currently we're busy studying in Club Leavey for finals. Motivating us is the taste of a 50-0 victory against UCLA fresh in our mouths, which must be bitter for our 'rivals' across town.

One of the highlights of this game was the return of cardstunts! Absent from the Coliseum for years, we brought it back. And what time was better than when the UCLA marching band was playing their half-time show in our house. We still run LA.

Tommy Watch has officially begun! We're out here 24/7 guarding Tommy against UCLA. We've already been featured in this LA Times article. Check us out on Tommycam, and Beat the bRuins!

Also, Congratulations to the newly inducted Trojan Knights NMC class of Fall 2011! All 17 new active members worked extremely hard to prove themselves worthy of being a Trojan Knight. We expect great things from them!
